On Wednesday, October 12, the Golf Ontario Super Camp and Tour Championship had its first day of competition. This three-day event, held at Ambassador Golf Club in Windsor, Ontario, consisted of the top young golfers under 19 years of age. Why are we writing about this, you may ask? This event had a field of 54 players, 29 boys, and 25 girls, and out of that field 12 of them are affiliated with a ClubLink Golf Club. So, of course, we must give them all a special shoutout for their incredible talent. Let’s dive in, shall we?
Starting with the girls. Station Creek Member Shauna Liu, took home second place finishing the tournament at , +9. On the par 71 Ambassador Golf Club course, Liu went 11 over the first two days with a 77 and 76, however Liu went two under on the final day shooting a 69.
Following up in 3rd place Kelly Zhao also from Station Creek. Zhao shot +14 for the tournament shooting 75,78, and 74 for all three rounds.
Coming 4th place affiliated with RattleSnake Point was Lindsay McGrath finishing the event at +15.
Tied in 7th place were two sisters who have been slowly making a name for themselves in the junior golf world. Nobelle and Kaprice Park, both shooting +20 for the tournament. Nobelle went 76, 81, 76 for her three day score, where Kaprice shot 76, 80, 77. These two sistes are also affiliated with RattleSnake Point.
Sticking to RattleSnake Grace Anderson tied for 11th place shooting an event score of +22. Anderson went 80, 85 and then went low on the final day with a score of 70, one under.
Also tied for 11th place with a +22 score was Swetha Sathish from Hidden Lake Golf Club. Sathish started out day one with a 76, followed by a 79 and 80.
Finishing T13 was Sarah Yang from Heron Point Golf Club. Yang shot a +23 with daily scores of 79,80 and 77.
Coming in tied for 15th place were Emma Hansen and Angela Chi who both shot +25. Hansen who is affiliated with Blue Springs Golf Club played her three rounds shooting 77, 83 and 78. Chi who plays out of Heron Point shot 81, 78 and 79.
Finishing out the strong ClubLink appearances is King’s Riding’s Karolyn Zeng in 22nd place. Zeng shot +35 for the event shooting 76 ,88 and 84.
Moving to the Boys field. Only one competitor comes from a ClubLink Golf Club and that was Chris Jo. Jo is affiliated with Hidden Lake Golf Club and finished tied for 10th place with a tournament round of +15. Jo went 74, 78, and 76 for his three days of play.
ClubLink was represented well in this event. These young athletes have so much potential, and we would not be surprised to see them go pro in their futures. Supporting these young competitors and watching them succeed is what it’s all about!
